The objective of this research has been to provide guidance for improving dental care service standards and identify the key stakeholders in the dental care industry. It has also sought to identify and measure the value of Dental Care provided by public and private sector organizations. The main areas examined were Dental Assistants, Dental Assistant Administrators, and Dental Hygienists. The results presented in this paper showed that there was a strong relationship between the amount of Dental Assistants provided and overall dental care service quality. The proportion of patients who had been prescribed an effective Dental Assistant treatment or had received high Dental Treatment completed by Dental Assistants was remarkably consistent. When considering overall dental care service quality, it was found that Dental Assistants were the most effective and least costly provider of Dental Treatment available to the client. The results also showed that the cost per patient was consistent between providers. This suggested that, although the Dental Assistant was the most effective provider, the client might not want to pay as much as they would if they had dental assistants available to them. The use of a Dental Assistant has its advantages such as; Dental Assistants have the knowledge and experience to quickly assess a patient's dental emergency and refer the patient to a suitable dental practice. This eliminates the need for the patient to go into their family doctor to seek advice on how to deal with their problem. Dental Assistants are trained to identify a toothache and quickly provide pain relief. Dental Assistants also have the skills to teach teeth cleaning and tooth positioning to patients. Therefore, Dental Assistant is the ideal candidate to offer emergency services and take calls regarding dental care emergency. A second main benefit from utilising Dental Assistants is the reduction in the number of patients requiring in-clinic treatment requiring sedation or pain relief. As we all know, a Dental Assistant's role does not just include advising patients on how to care for their teeth but also includes the process of cleaning and maintaining the oral health. This is a vital role as it has been shown that oral health is important in preventing disease and achieving overall good health. Therefore, Dental Assistants will play a very important role in maintaining a healthy mouth. Therefore, Dental Assistants will be able to provide the comprehensive dental care that all patients expect. The third major benefit from utilising Dental Assistants is the potential to reduce the number of people requiring in-clinic treatment such as sedation, tooth decay treatment or orthodontic treatment. In the event that a patient requires sedation, as a Dental Assistant you may be asked to manage the anaesthetic during the procedure and after the procedure has finished. You will then be responsible for explaining the procedure to the patient, taking x-rays and recording any related data. Click for San Francisco Dental Implants. On the other hand, you can be chosen to take over the responsibility of cleaning and repairing broken teeth. However, the responsibility of caring for your own teeth is very different from being a Dental Assistant as the former role involves assisting the dentist but the latter role involves more duties and responsibility, such as gums care, ensuring that the patient has had all their teeth cleaned and that there are no signs of tooth decay. A Dental Assistant also ensures that the patient uses recommended dental floss or soft brush twice a day and performs minor tooth reduction when necessary. Dental Assistants may not have a role as primary care providers or specialists, but they can help in emergency dental care situations where you could find yourself in need of urgent dental care such as tooth extraction, emergency filling or crown treatment.
